MIIT Cardio - 10/29/15
I decided to dust off an old favorite and go for a run in the park with push-up sets interspersed throughout the duration. It doesn't really fit HIIT, and it doesn't fit steady-state cardio either, so I'm calling it Medium Intensity Interval Training for short. The goal is to both stay in a fat-burning state with medium intensity cardio and to increase endurance as well as vascularity with the high rep/low weight upper-body work.
My local park has a really good layout for this as one lap takes me about 8-9 minutes. I did five laps, and between laps I did a set of push-ups to failure alternating between normal and diamond push-ups. By the end of the run I was pretty much beaten.
